Could you link to a download of the stepfile? The error may be because of a parsing bug that I didn't catch. There's always the chance that the stepfile is not properly formatted (which would be up to the stepfile maker to correct such that it conforms to .SM 3.9 format standards).

The fix to this problem is quite easy
Keripo founded it while helping me to fix mines

go to #NOTES
and before it you will see one ,
change it to ;

<Keripo> notes are suppose to end with a semicolon
<Keripo> not a comma
<Glas> lol that's all?
<Keripo> well, thats how other stepfiles are formatted
<Keripo> yes
<Keripo> cause what happened
<Keripo> was the parser read past the comma
<Keripo> kept going expecting notes data
<Keripo> and tried to parse the next "#NOTES"
<Keripo> as a new line of notes

I'ma play around with the parser later and see if there's an easy "fix" for it.

Technically though, I shouldn't be cleaning up after improperly formatted stepfiles...

I've started to play around with Dancing Monkeys, and I got this error with the first stepfile I managed to create. Maybe it's a common error with Dancing Monkeys generated stepfiles, and if so, shouldn't the dev for that be notified as well?

I generated a stepfile with Dancing Monkeys. On that stepfile, I got the same error as the OP in this discussion got-- caused by the improper formatting of the notes data.

It seems to me that Dancing Monkeys outputs .SM files with Notes data that ends with a comma, not a semicolon.

If it's in the SM requirements that Notes data ends with a semicolon, this would seem, to me, to be a bug in Dancing Monkeys, no? If so, I'd think it would be a good idea to somehow notify the dev of Dancing Monkeys.
